OVERVIEW

Snosko was asked to design and supply a solution to safely store and meter Heavy Duty IBCs (also known as bulkiboxes or Nylex IBCs) for a chemical processing facility in Australia.

The Heavy Duty IBCs were required to be bunded, as they contained corrosive chemicals.

SOLUTION

Snosko liaised with the facility and the IBC supplier to review the design constraints of the Heavy Duty IBC.

Using first engineering principles, Finite Element Modelling (FEM), and factory testing, Snosko’s Engineers were able to design a bund which could both store and contain and Heavy Duty IBCs without sacrificing the functionality of Snosko’s standard 1,400L IBC Bunds.

RESULTS

The bunds were delivered to site, and the facility was able to use Heavy Duty IBCs to store and meter their chemicals.

The bunding dimensions specified by AS3780-2008: The storage and handling of corrosive substances were also met.
