Electrical Level Indicators

Snosko Electrical Level Indicators utilise the latest in level measurement technology and control systems for tank/vessel level management. They are contactless and are designed with a range of safety features.

Product features

  • Can be integrated with ultrasonic, radar and pressure sensors, which are selected based on the medium being stored and size of the tank/vessel
  • Can be terminated in a corrosion resistant, sealed enclosure, which prevents harmful chemicals from damaging the control system (can be mounted on the tank, bund or elevated stand)
  • The enclosure can be configured to include a touch screen interface, which allows for sensors and alarms to be calibrated and tested in service
  • The interface can be configured to include a 4-20mA analogue output for external system monitoring and/or auxiliary system control
  • Additional liquid contact switches for bund alarms and/or redundant level control points can be included for critical applications
  • A load-in panel with high level cut off for tank filling and an emergency stop (E-Stop) button can also be included for applications where the adjoining vessel is being filled by a remote filling source (i.e., a truck or a pump)

Operational specifications

  • Can be adjusted for Snosko tanks and vessels of all sizes and shapes
  • Includes standard connections (flanges, threads etc) for easy attachment
  • Electrical indicators can be powered by a 24V or 240V source

Material specifications

  • All external components to be either thermoplastic, vinyl ester GFRP or stainless steel
  • All electrical components are enclosed

Chemical applications

  • Sodium hypochlorite (bleach)
  • Hydrochloric acid
  • Sodium hydroxide (caustic)
  • Sulfuric acid
  • Oxygen scavengers (such as sodium metabisulphite)
  • Citric acid
  • Coagulants (such as poly-aluminium chloride)
  • Fluorosilicic acid
  • Wastewater
  • Magnesium hydroxide

Relevant standards for installation [Need Image Update]

  • AS3780 – The storage and handling of corrosive substances
  • AS/NZS3000 – Wiring rules

Case Study

Bulk Sodium Hydroxide Storage for an Australian Chemical Processing Facility

Snosko was asked to design and supply a solution to safely store 7,000L of sodium hydroxide for a chemical processing facility in Australia. Due to the critical nature of the site, the tank needed required leak detection options and the ability to be disassembled for maintenance.
