Single Walled Tanks

Snosko’s Single Walled Tanks are designed to maximise the life of storage equipment used to store corrosive chemicals.

Their modular design allows them to be configured as a simple flat-based tank, or as a turnkey unit with a sloping/conical base, sideways manways for access, platform and ladder for roof access, filling points, and level indication.

Product features

  • Designed to suit Australian operating environments for ambient temperatures, wind, and earthquake loading with load rated hold down points
  • Designed with load rated lifting lugs for vertical and horizontal lifting (horizontal lifting lugs only included on large tanks)
  • Available with sloping and conical bases which allow for full drainage
  • Available in vented to atmosphere configurations or sealed configurations (which can be designed to operate at pressures up to ±10kPa)
  • Available with a range of mechanical level indicators, electrical level indicators, or level switches for critical applications.

Operational specifications

  • Capacities from 1,000L to 85,600L
  • Sheet, nozzles, and welding rod all made from the homogenous grade material
  • Manufactured as per DVS guidelines (German code for plastics welding)
  • All lifting devices labelled with Safe Working Loads (SWLs)
  • Hold down points rated to specified earthquake and wind conditions
  • Atmospheric vents designed as per API2000

Material specifications

  • All wetted components to be thermoplastic (HDPE grade PE100, PP-H, U-PVC)
  • All steel components to be either hot dip galvanised or stainless steel grade 316

Chemical applications

Snosko’s Single Walled Tanks are commonly used to store:

  • Sodium hypochlorite (bleach)
  • Hydrochloric acid
  • Sodium hydroxide (caustic)
  • Sulfuric acid
  • Oxygen scavengers (such as sodium metabisulphite)
  • Citric acid
  • Coagulants (such as poly-aluminium chloride)
  • Fluorosilicic acid
  • Wastewater
  • Sludge
  • Magnesium hydroxide

Case Study

Bulk Water Storage for an Australian Water Treatment Plant

Snosko was asked to design and supply a large water and trace chemical tank for a greenfield water treatment plant in Australia. Due to the limited space available and large capacity required, no standard moulded tank was able to meet the plant requirements.
